    Guatemala City reported an eruption from 11/1400 UTC to 11/1700 UTC. At that time, satellite imagery showed a hot spot around the volcano. The volcano has now quieted down.
 
 

September 22, 1998
    After a short period of eruptivity with lava and ash, the volcano caused a nearby airport to close temporarily while they cleaned up all the ash. The event occurred on the 18th.
